2005 YoungBiz Magazine
Welcome to the first issue of YoungBiz magazine
to be published for UK readers. As you can see, YoungBiz
is a totally new concept a magazine for teenagers
that’s all about earning, spending, saving and investing
money. Our mission is to show you how much fun it
can be to run a youth-owned business and how easy
it is to manage your money.
The theme for this issue of YoungBiz is
“Getting Started.” Every young person
featured in these pages is doing something to get
a head start on success.
First you’ll meet Tonya, James, and Felicity
three talented students who’ve made their big start
with prize-winning inventions that help others have
safer and happier lives. Be sure to read their story
on pages 6-7.
Then, hurry on over to the Money Smartz section and
read about 20 London-area teenagers who are doing
something even most adults fear tackling the
stock market for the first time. Their advice on pages
12-13 makes it all sound perfectly safe. But you read
the story and decide for yourself!
Finally, you won’t want to miss our big feature in
the Biz Startz section, “The Michael Lowe
Story” on pages 16-17. Look closely to see
if you can recognise the eight basic steps Michael
took when he launched his successful PR business at
the age of 15. Then flip over to pages 18-19 and meet
four young ladies who say they’re ready to prove girls
can be as successful in business as guys.
